Killed By Cars In Remington.
One more viotim to the list of persons killed by the oars in Remington was added Wed. The accident occured about 11 o’clook. The viotim was John Reed, an old and well known Irish resident formerly of Jordan but recently of Remington. He was crossing the tracks on Ohio street, and struck by a oar that was being backed across the street by the engine of the morning local. He was killed almost instantly. He was badly cut on the side, his head hurt and one leg. It is thought that he slipped on The track was the reason be did not get out of the way of the approaching car. Mr. Reed was about 78 years old, aud quite wealthy, owning a fine large farm in Jordan Tp. He leaves four sons, all grown of course, 1 of whom, W. J. Reed, was a Democratic candidate for county treasurer, two years ago. He made his home in Remington with two grancLdaughters.
