A High Bred and High Minded Colt.

Ike Gkzibrook’s Dan Patch filly, born on New Year’s day, increases daily in stature and agility and in all colt-like graces of person and character. It is a wise colt that knows its own father, and if this one knows she is the daughter of the renowned Dan Patch, she puts on no airs on account of her illustrious parentage. But whether she knows her own sire or not, she does know her own dam; but though she knows her dam she don’t say dam; and thus she knows more than she says. In this, young as she is, she contrasts most favorably with many people; who instead of knowing more than they say, oft times say a sight more than they know.
