The Coal Situation.

Both houses of Congress rushed through a bill Wednesday putting all coal on the free list for a year. This may help the situation a little. Measures are also under consideration looking towards the seizure of coal mines by the government and their operation for the benefit of the people. In this state a joint committee has appointed, by resolution of both houses, to investigate the coal famine and report upon what measures can be taken to relieve it.
