Senator Wolcott’s Positions.

State Senator Wolcott, from Jasper, Newton and White counties received a good recognition in the way of places on permanent Senate committees, as appointed by Lieut. Gov. Gilbert He is chairman of the important Committee on Education, and is a member of several other important committees Namely: Roads, Banks, Trust Companies and Savings Associations, Fees and Salaries, Telephones and Telegraphs. Speaker Marshall has not yet announced the committees in the House. It is stated however, that Representative Beckman, of Lake, formerly of Jasper and Lake, will have an important chairmanship. As to Representative Wilson, of this county, this being his first session he is scarcely in line for a chairmanship, or at least not of an important committee. He will however, be a member of several committees, of varying importance.
