Mrs. Eliza White, widow of Joseph White, died Saturday, Jan. 10th, 1903, at about 10 o’clock p. m. She went to Francesville Dec. 31st, to care for a sister, Mrs. John White, who had been sick for a long time past, and is now almost at the point of death. On Jan sth she was taken with a severe congestive chill, the precursor of an attack of pleurisy. Her condition rapidly grew worse, and on Wednesday her son Bruce White repaired to her side, and Saturday his wife went also, so that both were by her side when she passed away. Mrs. Eliza White was born in Xenia, Ohio on May 25th, 1826, and her age at death was 76 years, 7 months and 18 days. Her maiden name was Parris. She has lived in Rensselaer since the latter part of 1881. and previous to that time lived for many years in St. Joseph county, this state. Her husband, Joseph White, died here Aug. 27,1893. She leaves but one child, Bruce White, with whom she has always made her home. She also leaves two brothers, Tom Parris, of Monon, and Jack Parris, of Xenia, Ohio, and the sister at Francesville, at whose home she died. This sister is also named White, but their husbands though of the same name were not related. The body was brought back to her home here, Sunday, and the funeral was held at the M. E. church Monday, at 2p. m. Burial was at Weston cemetery. The deceased had been a faithful member of the Methodist church nearly all her life, and was of a strongly religious nature; as she was also a most excellent and amiable woman in all respects
