Sampson is Sold

1 Sampson, the fastest trotting" horse ever owned in Northwest Indiana, has been sold by Thompson & Padgett to Dave Wexiel, of Chicago, and was shipped to him Friday night. The prioe paid for him was $950. The horße was bought about a year ago of Ed HawkinSi of Earl Park, for $325. He had done no great things np to that time, but under Alt Padgett’s skillful training and driving, he developed wonderfully, and made a good season’s record. His best uslt> was at Joliet, 111, whioh he tvent in ,2.08 f. whioh is the best, mile ever made by a trotting horse owned in*N. W. Indiana;and whioh if we remember rightly is only the fraotion of a second behind the record whioh made Mand S the wonder of the world and of some of the more sporty neighboring planets, some years ago.
