Glad Crump Didn’t Keep Out Hawaii.
The American Paoifio telegraph oable which is to extend from San Francisco to the Philippines, was completed as far as the Hawiian islands, Saturday; and this country is now -in lull -communion with the gem islands of the Pacific; and than which there is no more loyal American territory, anywhere than they are. These islands have already proved of inestimable value as way stations towards the Philippines and from their eentral position will be indispensible factors in securing to this oonntry the priuoipal part of the oommerce of the Paoific. The people of the islands have also prospered wonderfully sinoe the islands were annexed. Thpee are the islands, by the way which, if onr congressman, Crumpaoker, of the much boasted "independence” had bad his way, would have had their request for annexation refused, and, as the next natural result, Queen Lil would have been restored to power and the American bred patriots of the islands who secured their independence and asked for their annexation, would have had their heads duly chopped off, long ago, as tbe deposed queen said they should.
