Fair Oaks.
Mr. N. Littlefield has been very sick for a few days, is some better at this writing. Mrs. A. D. Washburn did shopping in Rensselaer Monday. Florence and Frank Fry spent Saturday with their Grandparents here. Mrs. Jennie Barker and children of Yedo is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. David Winslow, Ross and Kate Schofield of Michigan City are visiting friends and relitives here during the Holidays. Sq. Lemoine is very sick with the g«P‘ The Ladies of the Christian church and society will serve an Oyster and general supper Dec 31, New Years eve at the Fair Oaks school house, a good program is 'being prepared, everybody come and enjoy a good time. * Mrs. Amy Richey and children are spending the holidays with her mother and other relatives at Brookston, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Bowan are visiting Grandma Manderyille this week. Mrs. P. Zea spent a few days last week with her sister at Remington.
Kilgore, Mallet and Dodge sale Sat. was not as well attended as was expected on account of the very bad weather. Jack Kight is the happy owner of George Best, a S2OOO horse from the Crouch Stock farm, at Layfette, the horse is a beauty,---C. P. Fry shipped 20 fat turkeys from the Otis ranch at Fair Oaks Tiiesday morning to Otis res-ident at Chicago for a Christmas for dinner. Also shipped a fine silk quilt that Mr. C. T. Otis purchased of the Christian church at Fair Oaks. The names of all the ranch men and tenents neighbors and friends appeared on the quilt worked in silk.
