Laundry Loss Not Settled.

The insurance company which carried SI,OOO risk on the recently burned laundry have offered Mr. Lagen 1500 of the amount, if he will accept that in full for his claim. The company takes the ground, as we understood it, that it is not legally liable at all, on account of the manner in which gasoline was being used, when the fire started. In any case it is a bad matter for Mr. Lagen, for not only has he lost a building and outfit estimated to be worth $2,000, but he has also lost, for an indefinite period, a very prosperous business. He believes that his claim against the company for the full amount is lawful and just and states that he will not accept the 1500.
