A New Grain Buying Basis.

The grain dealers of Indiana have adopted a new basis for buying grain says the Lafayette Times Hereafter, instead of buying grain by the bushel, as has been the custom, the market price will be based on the hundred pounds. Under the new plan the quotations being 50c for 100 pounds is the same as 36c a bushel of 72 pounds The new plan might prove popular with the farmers, as it is much easier of calculation than under ths bushel idea, but it is not likely the grain men in Rensselaer will take up with the new idea very soon.
