Elder Houston from Valparaiso preached a very ab'e sermon at the Christian Church at Asphaltum. Mrs. Frank and Dave Landers and family was’called to their home near Indianapolis on account of the severe illness of their father. Frank is on the sick list this week. R. E, Farlow and Mr. Haywood manager of the Duglas Oil Co. made a trip to O. T. Texas they expect to be home Xmas. Frank Hershmau is very seriously ill he cut his finger and blood poison set in and poisoned his arm. He was some better Sunday Miss Zelma Grimes and Mr. Grover Rouse left last Wed. for Bradly 111, where they will visit friends and relatives. Guss Bradberry returned home last Friday from Lafayette where* he has been working for sometime. The cold weather does not check the progress of the 'oil fields, It makes the men work more vigorously than ever. John Robb, of the southern part of Kansas visited his sister Mrs. DesElms last week.
