The 700 Pound Hog Dead.

The 700 pound Poland China boar, which Ben L. Smith of south of town took to the Chicago live stock show, is dead. The bog weighed 700 pounds and was one of the marvels of the big show. At the close of the show the bog was brought home, seemingly all right, bnt it is now thought be must have been injured in some way in handling, as it died Wednesday night. The hog was a valuable animal, and according to one report Mr. Smith bad an offer of SBOO for him, at the show. Another statement is that be was offered 5 sows worth $75 each, and S2OO in money. The dead hog was brought to townjTbursday morning to ship to a soap factory at Lafayette, for soap greaee.
