About the Year 1903.

The year 1903 will butt in on a Thursday and go out, of course, on the same day of the week; as is always the case exoept on leap years, there being just 52 weeks and one day in every ordinary year. Leap years, by the way, have been few and far between of late years, but if nothing goes wrong with the motions of the solar system we will have one in 1904 In 1903 there will be four eclipses, two eaoh of the sun and moqn; but none of them will amount to muoh from a spectacular point of view in this region. The only one of the four visible here at all will be a partial eclipse of the moon, on April 12th. There will be a total eclipse of the sun, always a scientifically interesting event, on Sept. 20tb, but it will be visible only in the far southern hemisphere, including the southern most part of Australia. Easter Sunday will occur ou April 12th, whioh is a little later than the average date of that great religious festival. Decoration Day and the 4th of July whioh always oome just five weeks apart, will this year come on Saturday. Christmas will oome on Friday.
