Beet?, the celebrated ex-speaker of the House, died at Washington just before midnight, Saturday night, after a sickness of only four days- He was taken with appendicitis while visiting at the Capitol, and though getting along yetj satisfactorily from this attack* his kidneys failed to perform their fnnotions, and the resulting uraemic poisoning caused his death.
