School Fund of State. - ... ■ The common school of the state, including the congressional fund, now amounts to $10,400,000, which is loaned out.by the county auditors at 6 per cent, interest, producing annual income of about $640,000, which -is prorated among the counties for school parpoees. An addition of $750,000 to this fund will make it in round amount $11,000,000 producing an income of about $660,000, or about what a 5-cent state tax levy would produce. The permanent school fond can never grow less, the counties being made responsible for the payment of the interest on the fund in their bands, whether they actually receive the interest or not.

Inheritance Tax Law. In his report filed with the govrernor, W. L. Taylor, attorney general, recommends the enactment of a collateral inheritance tax on all estates above $20,000.
