Making Good Progress.
The walls of the K. of P. building are now completed to the top of the 2nd story, and bricklaying suspended while floor beams and sleepers are being put in position, partitions set, and columns raised. The raising and placing ia position of the big steel I beams that will support the ceiling and floors above the armory room, will be the biggest feat in that line ever done here. These beams are 57 feet long and each weighs five tons, or an even 10,000 pounds. It would strain the gizzards of 50 ordinarily strong men to lift one of them. The bricklaying force is now all busy on Warner’s building, adjoining, which they will finish before they go back to the K. of P. building. ** i
