A Monon Train Held Up.
Four men, claiming Cincinnati as their home, attempted to hold np a Monon passenger train at Cyclone Thursday, but they were outwitted and afterward caught and placed in jail at Frankfort. A telephone message to Sheriff Corns from the Monon agent at Cyclone brought that official to the town and with the help of citizens he effected their capture The men were put off the south* bound express at Cyclone at 2 o’clock that morning and attempt* ed to board the Chicago paper train, when it arrived. Conductor Shields had been warned to look out for them and he refused to allow them to board the train. They then drew revolvers and fired several shots at the conductor and into the car, creating great excitement among the passengers, but they didn’t succeed in getting on the train. Two revolvers and some burglars’ tools were taken from them.
