It is the property in which Major Gen. It was shown to the counoil that the Ladies Literary Club, of Rensselaer had raised, by subscription $952 towards the pnrchese of the property. Farther that it could be bongbt for $1,900. The Council thereupon voted to pay S9OO of the price, provided the subscription be raised to SI,OOO, which can and will be very easily done. Bome money will aleo_be raised to improve and preserve the property. It is practically certain that the spot will be ultimately greatly improved, and probably be the site of a monument to Gen. Milroy, erected by the survivors of the 9th Indiana regiment of which he was the first colonel.
