The Bishop Sues Architect Brehmner

Bishop Alerding, of the Catholic diocese of Fcrt Wayne, has filed at South Bend a suit against Architect C. A. Brehmner, of that oity and the American Surety compjny, of New York, to recover on a surety bond damages to the amount of $2,500. The case involves the construction of the Catholic church at Lebanon upon ground belonging to the bishop. A contract was entered into with Mr Brehmner, who was to erect the building for a consideration of $6,548 and furnish all material. The complaint alleges the church was built according to contract, But that Mr. Brehmner failed to pay >r all the material, and parties from whom it was purchased had demanded payment from the bishop. Mr. Brehmner is the architect of the new K. of P. building now in process if erection here, and also <lrew the plans for the big oorner lot opera house, not yet under con•traction.
