The G. A. R. Picnic.
The Picnic of Rensselaer Post /- No. 84 and Milroy Cirole No. 3, at the residence of Mr. John Martihdales, 5 miles west of town Thursday was a big success in every y way. There were 30 of comrades and 30 of the sisters of the Circle, 60 in all, besides several others that attended. They left Rensselaer at 10 a. m. and returned at 1 p. m. All report they bad the biggest and beet time they have ever had, there was plenty of room for all, and more. Mr. and Mrs. Martindale know how to entertain suoh a crowd and to them is due the credit of making the affair a big suocess. Every one had a jolly good time and was mighty glad to be there. “The well filled baskets that the Sisters of the Circle took along were not s needed, Efs Mr. and Mrs. Martindale had ’ prepared enough good things to feed a Regiment, apples, pears and plums by the bushel, water melons by the wagon load, *9 3 big frefzers full of ice cream. Cigars by the box and good ones too. Plenty of everything. Good feelers and good feeders, they could not help having a good time. It was a red letter day for the old It boys and their wives.
