The Reform School Candidate.

Young Lee Richards, the boy Judge Thompson has just ordered sent to the reform school, smokes an ancient loud smelling pipe. When asked as to the probable age of the pipe, he answered that it was older than be was, he supposed. It is not as large as he is, though there is not so much difference as might be supposed, for the boy is small of his age. He was 11 last February, fie is a bright chap and especially never wants for an apt reply to any question. fie was sent out to his uncle Ves Richards, in Barkley, at the April term of court, as an alternative to going to the reform school then. By all accounts, he was a good boy while on the farm, and it would seem that it would have been better to have left him and let him attend school there, but bis relatives thought differently and they bad him brought to town and started in school here; with the result that he has gone wrong and must now go to the reform school. But very likely the rigid but intelligent discipline and training he will get there will be the best thing for him, as it has proved to be for some other Rensselaer boya.
