That Door-step Baby.
The excitement in Remington ever the baby left on Wm. Rich’s door step, last Friday morning, is beginning to subride, and the people to again realize where they are at. It was the first time that interesting circumstance ever occured in Remington, and we think in all of Jasper county. The baby has been adopted by Mr, and Mrs. W.*R. Willett, of 5 or 6 miles southwest of Remington who have no children of their own and who are nice people and they will give it a good home, It is a fine fat boy baby, and other families were anxious to adopt him. It is thought the baby was left about 5 o’clock Friday morning, as some of Mr. Rich’s people heard a wsgon driving away about that lime. The baby is supposed over there to be a product of the fertile farming regions around Remington. Of course if it had been suspected of being a Rensselaer invention it would have been pronounced no good and fired back here, in short ' order.
