Former Pastors’ Reunion.
One of the special features of the coming session of the NorthWest Indiana Conference will be a reminiscenses meeting, and a re-union of former pastors of the Rensselaer church. This will occur on Saturday afternoon Sept. 13, at 2 o’clock. Thirteen of the former pastors are still in the Conference and eight of them in active service. The'oldest one in point of service to this church is Miles H. Wood, who was appointed here in 1855. He has been superannuated for a number of years and is living at Newtown. 0. B. Mock is next in order and is also superannuated, though he remained in active service until twq years ago. His home ts in Lafaj eVe. E. W. L&wbon was appointed here in 1 1865. He is still in active service being now pastor at Roswell. He is quite hearty and full of vigor, i W. G. Vessels (1878) is superannuated and lives at Zionsville. A. |W. Wood came here in 1879 and jserved two years. He is now I pastor at Hammond. He is one of the most active men of the Conference, being now just about in the prime of life. J. W. Loden (1881) is superannuated and lives at Yeoman. J. J. Claypool 1882 is pastor at Romney. All of the pastors since 1884 are still in the Conference, 'except one. and only one of the number is superannuated. This one is E. G. Pelley (1888) who lives at Michigantown. Those in the service are now. stationed as follows: D. Handley, Medaryville; T. F. Drake, Crown Point; J. G. Campbell, South Bend.; R. D. Utter, South Bend; H. M. Middleton, Remington, All of these former pastors have been heard from and all are expecting to atteqd Conference. Two form er pastor! have died during the Conference year. These are G. W. Stafford, whp was appointed here sixty years ago this month and J. B. DeMotte, who came in 1852.
