A Debt-Paying Party.

The Republican party is a debtpaying party, and it ought to create no surprise among the Democratic brethern when Indiana Republicans go on steadily wiping out the debt in this state. It is possible, if the people of the state had had enough confidence in the Democrats to keep them in power, that they would have also paid the debt. We know they have not made a reputation in this line. It is not a question where the money comes from so it is honestly come by. If by economical administration of the affairs of the state Republicans have the money to pay they ought to have the credit to that extent, at least, The point is just this: The Republicans are in power and the debt is being paid. Why should they not have what credit comes from paying the debt?
