Carnival Notes.
Nearly all the attractions were ready to run by Tuesday evening, the latest to start up being the Streets of India, which opened after 9 o’clock. The sensational high diving ! performanoe, from the enormously high and electric lighted ladder, in this show, took place at the performance. The streets are already crowded with people, and more coming in constantly, by teams and trains. The Ferris wheel, which is a big job to ereot, did not get in action until today. Its arms tower higher than a three story building.* The crouds in the streets at night are enormous, but all are full of fun and frolic, and whoever gets plugged on the proboscis with a return ball, or gets a double handful of confetti down the back of the neck, grins as though he liked it, and metaphorically turns the other cheek for another biff. Yea, verily, it is a great time, and there is entertainment in variety to suit all tastes.
