Anniversary and Camp Fire
Company A’s fortieth reunion held at the Milroy property west of the bridge was not quite as extensive as at first planned but was withal a very pleasant affair for all ooncerned. No meals were served at the oamp but the old veterans got together snd had a pleasant time telling stories of war times, and resurreoting old anecdotes and memories whioh have for long lain musty ,and forgotten. In the evening there was a large orowd present of not only the members of Co, A. but also of other eompanies and regiments. Col. E. P. Hammond df Lafayette, the first oaptain of this Company was the principal speaker and was followed by Judge Thompson, 0. W. Hanley E. P. Honan and G. A. Williams. T. J. MoCoy was there'also with his phonograph and entertained old vets with a series of reproductions whioh were highly pleasing. At a late hour the company broke camp and returned to their homes for rest. Those of Company A. who attended the reunion were: Col. Hammond, Capt. G. W Payne, J. A. Burnham, D. H. Yeoman, H. N. Jacks, Wm. M. Hoover T. A. Crockett, Robt. A. Dunlap, Geo. M. Dunlap, Whitsel [Lewis, Geo, L. Morgan, Eraatus Peaoock, JohnjD.iTimmons/H. H. Watson, Chas. 0. A. Ball, [Shelby Grant, Wm. M. J. Orcutt, J. Q. Alter, John Casey, Geo. M. Cooper, P. R. Hopkins.
