Aid an Indian War Chief.

A movement has been started in northern Indiana to raise a fund i to save from the tax collector the farm in Miami county owned by Gabriel Godfrey, the last war chief of the famous tribe of Miami Indians. If Chief Godfroy should , lose the last acres of his patrimony all the Miami Indian reservation, amounting to 6,400 acres, will have passed into the hands of the whites. Chief Godfroy, by his benevo lence, has become a poor man. He has a wife and nine children.
