Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 34, Number 96, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 1 August 1902 — Sheive Bryan. [ARTICLE]
Sheive Bryan.
The first important gathering of the dexocrats of this corner of the state convention was held at Hammond Saturday, and free silver and Bryanism were shelved by silent consent. No platform was adopted, nor was a word said about the Kansas City convention, The democrats of Lake, Porter and Jasper counties took their cue from the Indianapolis convention. The only contest was for judgeship. The names of Ibach and Becker, of Hamgaond, and Bozarth, of Valparaiso, (of course) were presented. Bozarth received the support of Porter county but Ibach won easily. - The empty honor of the nomination for joint representative to run against Jesse E. Wilson, of Rensselaer, was given to Mr. Whiteside, of Whiting.
