Knights of Pythias Will Present a Street Show Eclipsing the Greatest Circns that Ever Struck Us. Rensaelaer’d street carnival under the auspices of the local order of Knights of Pythias as • contracted for with the Wright Carnival Co. will be for one entire week beginning Monday, August 18th and ending Saturday August 23rd. « It will be one week of fun, and Washington street, as well as other-business streets, will be converted' into places of amusement with attractions open all the time. Free exhibitions going on at every hour in the day and superb band concerts in the afternoon and even, ing. The cqjnmittees of K. of P'swho have the arrangements in charge havestarted out'with vit|, intending to nlake this week the grandest in the historj of Rensselaer. There will be numerous free at-, tractions at the street carnival, at Rensselaer, among (hem will be the Deßell’s novelty trapeze act, the Earl’s musical speciality, the Clarevill’s electrical trapeze and IJewett’s revolving globe artists and their'diving dog, Dan. W. F. Wallace’s famous troupe of glass blowers will be here. The troop is composed of nine of the* most expert blowers, and they will make dresses and neckties out of glkss, and an engine made entirely out of glass will be kept in constant motion. It is a novelty and alone is worth the small price of admission. Each visitor will receive a souvenir. Another show of decided interest will be Prof. Hill’s wild west show. Trained lions, hyenas, pumas, bears, panthers, etc., will do many acts which will interest and amuse aIE Fearless animat trainers enter dens and subdue the king of the jungle while the blood of the spectators rnns cold with fear and dread.
One of the most refined and entrancing specialties will be “Mozell,” the '‘Maid of the Mist” She is a beautiful young lady who dances the rythmical serpentine dance beyond a spray of water, illuminated with various stereoptican effects. ‘‘The Vision of the Robas” as given by “Mozelle” is a handsome blending of colors and facinates the spectators.
Streets of India is the correct representation of streets in Bombay or Oaloutta where thousands of tourists have been entertained on public squares by the following acts: Juggling, balancing, acrobatic feats and pyramid buildings, etc. In Streets of India, on a high elevated stage 20x60 are fgiven the above mentioned feats. Another strong attraction 'will be the Ferris Wheel, seventy-five feet high. Merry-go-rounds will also be in abundance, and in all eighteen shows. The Wright Carnival Company is one of the best playing in snob towns as Memphis, Tenn., Vicksburg Miss., Shreveport, La., Pine Bluff and Little Rock, South Chicago and a number of other equally large places. They require seven freight oars and five passenger coaches to convey the company.
