Didn't Get It Bad, Here.

I — 1r .......... .. y. • „. ———• ■ I. . —— The storm which came up so sudden and looked so threatening from the north last Thursday night, about 9130, broke over Chicago, much earlier in the evening, where it was a veritable hurricane. Plate glass windows were broken, signs blown down, trees stripped and yachts upset, were among the list of damage wrought by the gale. At the government weather bureau, it was reported the wind increased from a 12 mile gait to a 68 mile storm in three minutes Thousands of dollars worth of damage was done there. The electrical part of the storm is re ported as the greatest witnessed there in years. Here the storm did but little more than threaten, however and Rensselaer again luckily escaped a bad storm which was headed directly this way.
