Need Rain Already.
At first thought most people would suppose that farmers around here would not want to see' any more rain for the next two. months. As a matter of fact, however, the long, pelting rains we, have had left the ground pounded down so hard that it gets dryer and needs rain oftener than if the previous weather had been dry. Thus some of the farmers who are cultivating their corn, state that previous to the rain Wednesday morning, their land was so hard and dry they could scarcely get their cultivators through it; but the rain put it in much better shape. Corn is doing wonders now in the way of growth and improved appearance.
