A Golden Wedding.

Uncle Abe' and AShF Sarafi Pruitt bad their golden wedding anniversity last Sunday, July 13th, end the day was observed by quite a large party of friends, at their home on Van Rensselaer street. There were about 50 present, and’ they brought baskets and spread a' fine dinner. Quite a number of desirable presents were received including, among the rest, a fine bedroom suit. This modern “Abraham and Sarah” married in Parke Co., Ind , July 13, 1852. Her maiden name /was Sarah Ann Cooper,’ They, lived in Parke county until 186$Z, and since then, have lived in : Jasper and Newton counties, the most of the time on their farm in Jordan Tp., this county. They have no children of their own, but Mrs. J. A. McFarland is their : adopted daughter. She was born during the civil war, while her father was in the army. Her mother sickened and died and on her death bed gave her Tittle girl, to Mr. and Mrs. Pruitt, and when her father returned from the army he allowed them to retain her. Those present at the.anniversary Sunday from out of town, were Mr and Mrs. W, S. Kemper, Rev, W. T. Carpenter, Mr. and Mrs. H. Herath, Lizzie and Hazel and Fred Herath, from Goodland. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bridgeman, from Wolcott, and Mrs. Jane Michael, Mr. Pruitt’s sister, from Chicago,
