James W. Cowden Dead.

The sad and wholly surprising news was received here by telegram, last Saturday that our former well known townsman James W. Cowden, died that Saturday morning at 8 o’clock at his home near Logansport, to which he moved from this vicinity only about four months ago. No particulars were sent of the manner of his death, but it must have been quite sudden as no one here bad even heard he was sick. The body was brought back here for burial, Monday evening, and taken to the home of Mrs. Clouse, on Vine street. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 11 a. m. at Trinity M. E. church. Rev. 0. D. Royse will conduct the religious services, and Iroquois Lodge, I. O. O. F., of which the deceased was a member, will have charge of the burial rites.
