OBITUARY.
Henry L-e was born at Barnstaple, England, March 23, 1841. Came to the I’. S. with his parents, in 1852. Resided on a farm near (> town, Hl., until 1861, when he enlisted, at the age of 17, in the 26th 111. regiment of infantry. He served four years in Co. E. of that regiment, during which he was in 57 battles and skirmishes, including such important battles, as Kenesaw Mountain, Nashville, Mission Ridge, Seige of Atlanta, Seige of Vicksburg, Island No. 10, etc. During the war be marched with his regiment, 6,931 miles. Soon after the close of his army service he married Miss Catherine Shepherd, who survives him. Also five of the six children born to them. Namely Edna, Walter, Charles, Fannie, LaVera. The one who preceded him, Henry, met death by djolwning, in 1899, Mr. Lee removed to this county, from Illinois, in 1892. living in Hanging Grove Tp. Hisdeath occured Sunday, June 29th, 1902, at the age of 58 years, 3 months, 6 days. The funeral was held Tuesday, July 1, at the Banta school house, at 4:30 p. m., and was very largely attended. Rev. B. F, Ferguson conducted the religious services, and interment was made in Osborne cemetery.
