Some More Carp Stories.

As a~ supplement to the origi na story of the carp fish which Alf Donnelly caught pulling up onions in his field, Alf now states that when he came to open the fish he found a large railroad spike insidel The fish had undoubtedly swallowed it as sinker, to give it more purchase in pulling up the onions. Another reliable high water carp story, is from such an unquestionable and official source as R. B. Porter, the county recorder. When he put on his hip boots and waded out into his cow pasture, Monday evening, to bring home bis cow from her diet of bulrush tops, be found a big carp banging to each of the cow’s teats, and secured them all. The well known talents of carp for adapting themselves to all sorts of new conditions, in their pursuits of pleasure and sustenance, is sufficient confirmation of the truth of these stories.
