Carnival is Clinched
Will be Held Here August 18th to 22nd Inclusive. ■ _i ' Messrs. J. H. S. Ellis and H. F. Parker, who fully investigated the Wright Carnival Company’s attractions, at LaSalle, 111 , Wednesday, brought back reports that were favorable in every particular, The Company had only one week of the season left open. Namely from August 18th to 22nd inclusive. This was offered to Rensselaer, if accepted by noon, Thursday. Accordingly a special meeting of the K. of P. Lodge was held, on Thu relay forenoon, and after hearing the report of the committee, a motion to accept the Wright Company’s proposition was adopted, with only one dissenting vote. > A telegram accepting the proposition was sent at once, and the advance agent is to come at once to close up the contract. _ Messrs. Ellis and Parker, while expecting a good deal, found the carnival much better than they expected. They declare the show is better than Wallace’s circus. There are 13 or more different shows, everything high class and everything straight and clean. The list includes a Turkish theater, Streets of India, maz), illusions, moving pictures, merry-go-round, a high Ferris wheel, trapeze performers, glass blowers, high divers, revolving globe etc etc. Not only Is every attraction dean and unobjectionable, but the carnival management keeps out all kinds of outside fakers and gamblers, pickpockets and the like. In fact, the report of the committee could not be more favorable.
