At St. Joseph's College.
Tnesday was a great day at St. Joseph's College. Among the 'many interesting oocurenoes of the day, was the competitive drill in the afternoon, between the St. Paul Cadets, of Chicago, and the Bt. Joseph Volunteers. No reward was given or supremacy awarded, but it was plain enough to the spectators tbat the St. Joseph boys were far the better drilled company. There was also a fine publio address, in the afternoon, by Rev. Geo. D. Heldman, of Chicago. In the evening the regular oollege commencement exercises were held. John T. Lemper was class salutatorian; Class essay, Henry B. Froning; Class poem, Sebastian J. Kremer; Class orator, Wm. B. Arnold. -The degrees weie conferred by Bishop Allerding. . The immense attendance of visitors at the college is shown by the statement that not less than 500 person were fed at the college, at dinner, Tuesday.
