Well friends we have been a long time getting around but we are here at last. Quite a few young folks went from Gifford to Rensselaer Decora-
tion Day and reported a good time. Corn planting is getting to be a thing of the past around Gifford unless some of us have to plant over, Mr. and Mrs. John Parker and son of Gifford have a few days visit with friends and • relatives in Boone Co. Jim Anderson of Gifford went toward Newland Sunday. What for Jim? Tom Tanner is remodling his old building he hauled to town. The new hotel at this place will soon be ready for the landlord to walk in to. We are growing ain’t we? Mr. Gifford and Jess Williams trial will be held in the near future at Gifford. The former has sued the latter for damages. He says Jess has knocked all his grade stakes down from Gifford to Zadoc on Sunday nights. Wonder where he goes? The baptizing near Aix was largely attended by Gsfford people last Sunday. S. J.-Rife has received a quantity of stock food. George Kimble is on the sick list. There will be a show at Gifford commencing Wednesday night and lasting the rest of the week. Admittance 2 cents the first night and 5 cents the rest of the time. Boys bring-the girls down every night. There will be a game of ball at the oil fields Sunday. Medaryville and Gifford are the contesting teams.
