The Hightest For Steers.
Enormous as were the prices heretofore received by some of our cattle men at the stock yards for their fat steers, all those prices have now been exceeded, for that just received for a car load, by Granville Moody. He received $7.55 per 100 weight. He had 18 steers in the load, and though exact figures as to their average weight have not been received, it will be about 1,600 pound. And that would bring the price of each steer to $l2O 80 or $1,932 for the load. Verily the “beef trust” barons don’t get all the benefits for the high prices of beef now prevailing; when a farmer can get thp price of a fine new house, or of a good 40 acre farm out of one car load of beef cattle.
