Two Sad Deaths In Mayhew Family.
The relatives here of Dr. Ernest Mayhew have received the sad news of the death of his wife, which occurred Wednesday, at the home of her parents, in Chicago. They have been living in the northern part of California, but came back to Chicago a few days before her death; which resulted from some form of consumption. They had been married about two years. The funeral will be held Friday, in Chicago, and a number from here will attend. Further sad news for the same relatives is that C. P. Mayhew’s youngest daughter, Edna, is also very low at his home at Red Bluffs, Cal., and news of her death expected at any time. Later: —Since the above was in type the news was received, at noon on Thursday, that Edna had died on Wednesday afternoon, also the same day of her sister-in-law’s death. She also had consumption, and it is thought contracted it caring for and sleeping with Ernest’s wife. Edna was born in Rensselaer and was about 20 or 21 years old. _
