Mrs. Eliza Fowler, widow of the late Moses Fowler, of Lafayette, died suddenly on Monday evening. Mrs. Fowler was one of the oldest residents of Lafayette, and was past eighty-four at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Hawkins, and she was married in 1844. Her husband, the late Moses Fowler, was among the wealthiest men of Indiana and more than a millionaire, and was the founder of the town of Fowler. Mrs. Fowler recently donated io Purdue University seventy thousand dollars for the building and equipment of a new hall to be known as Eliza Fowler hall.
