Union Township Commencement
The schools of Union township will hold their annual commencement on Wednesday evening, June 4th, at Brushwood church, near Aix. The graduating class is thirteen in number, which je the banner township class of the year in Jasper county, and the largest class that ever graduated from that township. The following are the graduates and their subjects: . Jesse Smith, “Washington Irving.” > Florence Davisson, ‘‘Force of Character.” Mary Cull, ‘‘The 20th Century Girl.” Effie Swaim, “The Truly Great.” Frank Garriott, “Character.” Nellie Byrd, “Advancement.” Victor Comer, "Our Country.” Floy Williams, “Home.” Hazel Kirk, “Spinning and Weaving.” Floyd Williams. “Education.” Etta Smith, “Longfellow.” Cora Dexter, “Envy.” Herbert Zea, “Woik and Advancement,” The exercises will be interspersed with frequent selections of music. 8.. D. Comer, the township trustee, will present the diplomas.
