Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 34, Number 77, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 27 May 1902 — Fred Landis Nominated. [ARTICLE]

Fred Landis Nominated.

Hereafter there will be two of “Mr. Landis, of Indiana” in Congress. Frederick Landis, of Logansport, in the eleventh district, brother of C. B. Lands, of Delphi, now representative from the 9:h district, was nominated at Wabash, late Thursday evening, as congressman from his district. It was after one of the most memorable convention contests that ever took place in the state, and the nomination was made on the 1012 h ballot.

Two brothers in congress from the same state is a very unusual circumstance; and especially when, as in the case oL these Landis brothers, their high positions are gained purely through the force of their own natural abilities and high characters.
