Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 34, Number 77, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 27 May 1902 — Dr. Wilson to Be Paroled, [ARTICLE]
Dr. Wilson to Be Paroled,
There is an excellent prospect that Dr F. D. Wilson, of Thayer, will be released on parole, after serving about only two weeks of his jail sentence of three months. There is a law authorizing such action on the part of the judge of the court, when the application for such parole is properly endorsed by the community in which the person resides. It seems that all the leading people of Thayer and vicinity desire the Dr’s, release, and have signed the application in tiis behalf. It was even hoped that he could be released todays but Judge Thompson states that it can only be done when court is regularly in session, and as the Newton circuit court has adjourned for two weeks, the doctor will be obliged to remain here that long, at least.
