Got a Dentist This Time.
Sheriff Hardy has got another boarder who will stay with him for some weeks. It is Wm. J. Oram, a man who, many years ago, practiced dentistry here with Dr. Kelley and afterwards was in the same business a long time at Goodland. The charge against him is jumping a board bill at Dunnville. The bill was $8.60, and he was fined ane costed $22.80, by Squire Van Duzen of Wheatfield. The party making the affidavit is Alonzo Neece. This man being a dentist, it suggests the thought that men of all professions strike the pike for the portals of the jail, as well as “go the primrose path to the everlasting bonfire” as per the grouchy porter in Macbeth. It is stated that Dr. Oram has displayed the same forgetfullness in regard to board bills at other places. Well, where he is now, he is not contracting any board bill.
