Culver Military Academy has cancelled its date with the Manual Training School team of Indianapolis because the catcher of the latter team, Wirt Smith, is a colored boy. The management of the Culver team on learning that Smith was io play in the game MayJH, notified the Indianapolis management that the game would be cancelled if Smith was not relieved and a substitute put iu his place. The management of the Indianapolis team promptly replied that the retention of Smith was of more importance to the Manual Training School than games with a dozen Culver institutes.
