Trainmen Escape.
A side rod of engine 156 drawing a Monon passenger train broke Tuesday night near Otis, and damaged the fireman’s side of the cab.' The locomotive was in charge of Engineer Chas. Cline and the fireman was Martin Phifer. When the rod broke Phifer climbed back onto the tank and thus escaped possible injury. Mr. Cline stopped the train in three train lengths and thus averted a bad accident.
