Notice is hereby given, that at my -office, on Friday, April 25th, 1902, at one o'clock p. m. I will open sealed bids, received prior thereto, for the construction of a Ditch known as the Makeever Ditch No. 9840. Commencing 20 feet south and 50 feet east of the north west corner of the north west quarter of the south west quarter of section sixteen (16) township twenty-nine (29) north, range seven (7) west, running in a general northerly direction to its outlet in the Iroquois river at a point 315 feet east of the center line of the south west quarter of section four (4) township twenty nine (29) north, range seven (7) west, and 525 feet south of the center line of said section, a total distance of 12259 feet. Also a lateral ditch commencing 584 feet north of the south west corner of the south east quarter of the south east quarter of section eight (8) township twenty nine (29) north, range seven (7) west and running thence in a general north easterly direction to its outlet in the main ditch at Stake 54 and 30 feet, a total distance of 4230 feet. Said work wiH be let in Two (2) separate parts, to-wit: Ist part to include all the main ditch from Station 70 to outlet being open ditch. 2nd part to include all the main ditch from commencement to Station 70 and all of lateral, all being tile ditch. In the matter of the South Barkley “ Gravel road. —~ Notice is hereby given that on April 8, 1902, there was a petition filed before the Board of Commissioners under the the title of “Cause No. 121, South Gravel Road.” This petition prays for the improvement by way of surveying, grading, draining and graveling or macadamizing the public highway commonly known as the old Francesville ana Rensselaer road. The said proposed improvement of said highway commencing at the northwest corner of section ten (18), township twenty-nine (29) north, range five (5) west, in Jasper county, Indiana, and from thence following the line of said highway northwest to the school house, and thence west on the line of said public highway through sections four (4), five (a), six (B), one (1) ana two (2) in township twentynine (29) north, range six (6) west in said county and following the line of said highway down to its terminus to the southwest corner of the east half of the southwest quarter of section nine (9) township twenty-nine (29) north, range six (6) west in said county. Notice is further given that the Board approved the petition and bond as being in due form of law and signed by the proper number of land owners ana thereupon appointed John Hudson, Andrew Hicks ana John R. Wilson as viewers, and Hugh L. Gamble as engineer, who are directed to meet at the Auditor's office on Monday, May 5, 1902, and then and there qualify as required by law and proceed to the easterly terminus of said proposed highway and perform their duties as requirea by law, under the gravel road law of 1877, known as the two mile law. Under this law the said viewers and engineer determine the questions as to grading, drainage and graveling or macadamizing in consultation with the resident land owners within the two mile limit and all parties interested or liable to be affected by this improvemeat are notified by this notice of same and that they are at liberty to give information or advice to said viewers and engineer as to said improvement.
