A Notable Journey Aronnd the Earth.

The trip around the world under the chaperonage of the ladies of the Christian church was a great success, in all respects. The journey commenced and terminated in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Coen, but was none the less enjoyable for its limited distance. As the visitors entered, the first nation to entertain them was the United State, here Columbia and Uncle Sam presided, flags were used in decorating, flag costumes on her daughters were seen, and many interesting pictures, Indian relics, etc. while sandwiches and pickles furnished the inner man with refreshment. Pictures of our German visitor, relics and fancy German costumes were notic ed here, these latter especially good, not to mention the wooden shoes. German beer [or some other good drink] in an immense punch bowl, wienerwursts and. pretzels, delighted all lovers of German fare. France offered fruit salad and cake, in surroundings of artistic luxury. The coquettish maidens here, were dressed in elegant Worth costumes and to the ordinary observer, seemed as demure and modest as the typical girl of France, usually appears. Little Japan though last was second to none. As usual her wares were of surpassing beauty, her products displayed the wonderful skill of that nation of skilled artisans, her Ceylon tea and wafers were delicate bits of cookery and her almond eyed daughters were perfections of well dressed little Japs- Altogether those who made this journey around the world were well pleased with the efforts made for their entertainment. Financially the trip was a great success, also.
