Fair Oaks.

Mrs. Jim Cox was at Lowell last Sunday to consult Dr. Gerrish. Miss Iva Alter visited friends in Chicago last Sunday. Mrs. Anna Gilmore spent last Sunday with her husband at Hammond. D. W. Blair moved onto his farm, lately bought of Chas. Gundy, last Monday. —Peter Call has secured employment at Chicago Heights and moved his family there last week. Grant Hawkins has rented a good farm near LaCrosse and moved upon the same this week. Mrs. Laura Boyles returned to Chicago last Monday after a several weeks’ stay here with her sister Mrs. P. W. Nelson, on account of sickness. Mr. Howell has rented the Powell property, lately bought from D. E. Brockus, and will occupy it March 15th. Mr. and Mrs. Kight and Mrs Fannie Cottingham were at Chicago last Sunday to see Dr. Davis,, the s pecialist. David Brockus has given up moving to California, but instead he

will remove to Lowell and engage in farming. Messrs. Harrell and Flutz with their families, moved here from near Shelbyville, Ind. last week and are now occupying the ranch just lately bought of W. L. Hill, Isaac Kight expects to erect a new store building some time during the coming summer. It will be two stories high, the second floor to be used as a general purpose hall. This will fill a long felt want in Fair Oaks, if built.
